Can't upload video reviews?

:memo: What do you need help with?

Hi, I am trying to upload a video review but can’t seem to upload the video file itself.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Details:

I go to Post Review → select Video Review. A drop-file-here section appears. If I try to drag a file into this box, it does not accept the file upload (simply opens the video file in my browser). If I click on the field, it opens a file selection window, and if I then click on the file to upload, the section goes blank and no upload seems to happen. If I try to hit “submit” it tells me the video field is required.

After selecting a file (note that the “video” text disappears):

:speech_balloon: Anything else we should know?

I tried on Chrome and Firefox browsers with the same results.
The video file is a 1080p landscape format mp4 and is 956.2 MB.

I’ve figured out the issue — it was actually reported by another user yesterday. The problem comes from how our system handles file size limits, especially for large video uploads.

Our dev team is already on it, and the fix is expected to roll out within 1–2 weeks — hopefully by the end of this week, or next week at the latest.

So sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience!

Glad to see this is already being handled! For my reference, is it possible to know the current approximate file limit?

Our current size limit should be 1000 MB, but because of a bug the system is defaulting to 500 MB or less. We need to fix this issue as soon as possible.

Thanks for that info! I decided to just use video compression sites to reduce my video sizes to meet what’s working so I could move forward with the reviews I need/wanted for my blogs!

Our DevTeam will fix it on July 8th. The video limit will be 1000MB.

Awesome to know! In case another hiccup comes up, I’m super happy to report that my work around is currently working and now letting me upload my reviews! The only hiccup I ran into after, was the Pros and Cons lists I got carried away that an error told me I wasn’t allowed to have. Saved my excess and just reduced them back down to the original desired amount of 5 so I could roll on lol.

Thank you for letting us know! I just encountered the issue as well - glad to see it’s being worked on. I’ll try to upload in a couple of days

There’s a ton of a free video compression sites that won’t ruin your video but will bring it down to the 500Mb size if you’d rather post sooner than later. can always reupload the larger one later if you do notice an issue.

ToyChats updated and fixed some bugs tonight! The 1000MB video upload issue has been resolved, and images can now be up to 10MB. Feel free to upload large videos now! If you encounter any issues, please provide feedback here.

I have compressed this to 32mb. It still won’t upload. After a 100 tries it will start to, but freezes at 5.99%

The images I try and upload are under size but still won’t upload

Pls help! :sob::sob::sob:

Could you please upload a few screenshots? That would make it easier for me to pinpoint the issue you’re encountering!

Also, could you let me know the dimensions of the video you’re trying to upload?

At the moment, the maximum upload limit for a single ToyChats video is 1000 MB. If you’re running into upload errors, I recommend restarting your browser. If possible, try restarting your computer as well before attempting again.

Ofcourse.

568x320 and 34.11mb

Here is a screen recording of me trying to upload the video.

A resolution of 568x320 should not be a problem—our system supports up to 1080P, so the resolution is definitely not the issue.

I just tested the video upload process myself using Google Chrome and successfully uploaded a 108 MB video without any problems.

Could you try fully exiting your browser, restarting it, and then attempting the upload again?

I’m on chrome too.

I have done. Also did a memory refresh and then restarted my phone. Same deal.

Do you use any special uploading software?

Another possibility is that the connection between your current network and the ToyChats servers may be unstable. ToyChats uses Amazon cloud servers located in California, so you might want to try uploading again at a different time.

I also noticed that you’ve successfully uploaded video reviews before, so in theory there shouldn’t be an issue on your end.

They took a lot of tries to upload though and I nearly lost patience doing it.

It makes it’s very difficult to actually do this.

I’m on secure fibre optic broadband. I have even tried using a VPN but that didn’t work either.

I will try again later on and see if it makes a difference. Will let you know. X

Sorry for the inconvenience! I suspect this may be a connection issue, which unfortunately I can’t resolve from my side. The best option would be to try again at a different time.

If you run into any problems, please don’t hesitate to come back here and let me know!
