The Tool We All Need (At Least I 😂)

Hey friends!

We’ve built up a pretty decent collection of toys over the years (okay, more than decent… it’s 2 drawers and some boxes :see_no_evil_monkey:). And honestly? As much as we love having options, there are days where we just sit there like: “Okay… but which one now?”

So we made this little web app to help us – and maybe you too!

:laptop: How it works:
You just open the index.html file. That’s it. No install, no login, no tracking – it runs locally in your browser. From there, you can:

:sparkles: Add your toys with categories, tags, notes, ratings
:sparkles: Mark favorites for easy go-to’s
:sparkles: Use a random picker to help when you’re indecisive (our fave part tbh – it’s why we built it!)
:sparkles: Filter by category when you kinda know what you want
:sparkles: Export & import your list – or load toys from others
:sparkles: Select or deselect multiple categories/tags with CMD/CTRL + Click

We wanted something simple and fun that actually fits how we think about toys – not just a spreadsheet but something playful. Whether you’re solo, in a couple, or collecting like us (no shame ), it’s a nice way to keep track and discover new faves.

:wrench: Full honesty:
We’re not developers – we made this with a lot of help from AI and some trial & error. If you spot bugs, have feature ideas, or just wanna tweak something… let us know! We do our best and are happy if you help a litte :heart:

:love_letter: Optional but awesome:
If you have toys you love, you can export them (as tiny JSON files) and share them with others – like us! We’d love to see what’s in your collection. But no pressure – it’s all optional. Use it however you like! We added some of our favs in the ZIP- feel free to import them.

Hope you enjoy it, have fun exploring your stash – and maybe let fate choose your next session :game_die::wink:

PS: If for any reason this post doesn’t belong here or doesn’t feel right – @Lesley just let us know and we’ll happily take it down :heart_hands:

Ahh and if you import our given toys… definitely change their description. We did them with AI as well and tweaked them in our manager with our experiences in mind.

organization and toys go hand in hand. this is pretty cool!!

I’ve added screenshots for you so that you can show your app UI more clearly.

Two suggestions

  • In addition, I think according to the habit, add the interface can use pop-up menu design.
  • Then, the json file should not have to be exported and dumped individually, it is recommended to use merge json data into one file for easy use.

Very Professional!! :star_struck:

Hey guys. I updated the UI and added some new features. Hope you like it.

You are so energized and update so quickly!

Procrastination helped a lot :face_with_peeking_eye:

Anyway, you really made something, and I loved the challenge part very much! Very interesting, I was even wondering if ToyChats could add to the concept. :upside_down_face:

Wow! That looks so useful!! We also have a growing toy collection, and your tool would probably be fun to use!! Thank you for sharing it!!
