I received another product to review from Utimi. An automatic thrusting dildo that was supposedly silicone. The product heats up from friction quite badly in use, and pigment will come out of the material. So I highly doubt the toy is body safe. Nor is it pure silicone; most likely a blend, if silicone at all.
This is the toy. Here is the link to it if you want to see it. But I do not recommend buying it or using it unless you want an unknown dye absorbed into your bloodstream, and who knows what else.
I am going to email Utimi that I cannot complete the review due to safety concerns.
Honestly, as long as there’s a motor involved, some heat is unavoidable.
For vibration toys, you usually don’t feel much heat at all. But with thrusting or piston-style toys, because of the physical movement and mechanics, I’ve noticed they almost always generate some heat.
Then I double-checked with GPT, and this is for reference only:
Piston-style adult toys commonly generate some heat during use due to mechanical friction and motor load. This is caused by their back-and-forth movement structure and is generally considered normal.
As long as the heat is mild, the temperature rises gradually, and the toy cools down quickly after stopping use, it’s usually within a normal operating range.
However, if it becomes noticeably hot in a short time, or is accompanied by unusual smells, noise, or abnormal operation, it may be related to build quality or design issues and should be used with caution.
This is what happens! It got really hot, off gasing creating a chemical plasticy smell, and dye starts to bleed. One of our chairs now have a permanent red stain!
I have that same toy… 2 to be precise. Thanks for the heads up on the dye stain issue!! I’ll be sure to lay something down to protect our sheets/furniture.
